Vandals carried out two attacks in one night on a mosque.
They were captured on camera as they removed fencing and threw bricks through the windows.
The vandalism is the latest in a spate of racially-motivated attacks on the premises in Liverpool Road, Eccles. CCTV cameras were installed after a break-in 2006 when intruders caused extensive damage.
Ali Anees, chairman of the Eccles and Salford Mosque, said: “We have had problems regularly. In March, someone threw paint over the outside of the mosque and wrote graffiti.
“Then at about 2am last Saturday two men got into the grounds. One is on film throwing bricks which had been taken from a wall of a neighbouring building. They attacked the building twice in about 20 minutes.
“Three sections of the windows were smashed and bricks were found inside the office of the mosque. We had another incident in March when eggs were thrown at people leaving the mosque by people driving past.”
I’m reminded of a comment by BNP Councillor Pat Richardson:
‘A brick through the window is a British method … of showing displeasure‘.

Crimes like these are more likely caused by bigots against reactionary Muslims who claim Islam is the dominant religion, that it will take over Britain, that homosexuals need to be thrown off a cliff, that Jews are the enemy and Christians are perverted evildoers. In other words, by people like yourself, Yasin.
You can’t have it both ways: you can’t suggest that the true interpretation of Islam is Jamaati/Ikhwaani/Hizbi and then blame moderates when mosques are attacked. Take some responsibility for a fucking change.

Spot on Yasin. Its the hatred of Muslims sites like Spitoon and Harrys Place peddle (under the guise of being anti-”Islamists”) and their fellow travellers in the media which leads to attacks like this.

Well said dawood and bananabrain. Its the Islamists (yasin, hadid on this thread) and their fellow travellers in the media which leads to attacks like this. They cannot and will not leave peacefully in this country so their mission is to benefit from incidents like this, to both blame moderate muslims and benefit from the a climate of fear and loathing which they partly create and revel in.
