Saleh al Munajjid is a Saudi preacher. He thinks freedom is very dangerous and brutal corporal punishment in the name of Islam is fantastic.
He is so keen on jihad that he says “neglecting” it is a “major sin”:

Salman al Awdah is another Saudi preacher. He was so radical in the 1990s that Osama bin Laden saw him as a hero and hailed him (pdf) as his “ideal personality”. The Saudi government instead saw him as a security threat and locked him up for five years. He has since turned against al Qaeda, but in 2004 he did come out for jihad in Iraq:
A group of Saudi religious scholars have signed an open letter urging Iraqis to support jihad against US-led forces.
“Fighting the occupiers is a duty for all those who are able,” they said in a statement posted on the internet at the weekend. “Resistance is a legitimate right. A Muslim must not inflict harm on any resistance man or inform about them. Instead, they should be supported and protected.”
Mustafa Mashoor is an Egyptian leader of the Muslim Brotherhood. He calls for an Islamic state that will not “neglect” jihad:
Further, we must understand that the Jamaa most worthy of working with is the one that takes Islam in its entirety as an Aqeedah, an Ibadah, manners, a Shareeah, a rule of government, jihad, and every other aspect of life. The Jamaa must not stress one aspect and neglect the other side for any reason. The Jamaa must have the horizontal base across the world to facilitate the establishment of the wide base pivotal to establishing an international Islamic state and not an Islamic state which is limited to a country or a region.
Abdullah Azzam was a prominent jihadi theorist and mentor to Osama bin Laden. He thought Jews ran the world.
Abu Sabayaa is the screen name of Tarek Mehanna. He will go on trial in the US this year for terrorism offences:
Tarek Mehanna, 27, of Sudbury and Ahmad Abousamra, 28, who last lived in Mansfield, were charged in a 10-count indictment with providing and conspiring to provide material support to terrorists, conspiracy to kill in a foreign country, and other charges.

i’ve never been a muslim, but i’ve been invited to become one several times and i’m very clear on what it’s all about. with certain notable exceptions, i rather like islam, islamic thought, culture, music, poetry, architecture and the arabic language. i play the ‘oud. i’ve studied a bit of Qur’an in my time with some well-informed teachers but i’m already jewish and i like my whisky, so i’m not really seeing why i should consider it. obviously, i’m not exactly either understanding where it is i hate islam and muslims.
i would like to know, however, since i have received this call to islam and i have knowingly, calmly and with distinct intention rejected it, whether you think i should now be considered a “kaafir” and what you think should be done to me as a result.

I can think of no scholar, Muslim or otherwise, who would want to be associated with poison. Enlightenment – the business of scholars, after all – has very little to do with notions as negative as poison, I would aver.
It rather depends what you mean by “scholar”, of course. The fact that he appears to trade in the grossest bigotries imaginable might call into question his moral probity and render questionable his interpretations of scripture, certainly.

What is needed is pro-action on the part of the state to isolate and, where necessary, eliminate the threat that Islamism poses to all (Muslim and non-Muslim alike).
Active prosecution of individuals who grossly abuse our laws against gender and race and religious and sexual orientation hate is necessary.

Can I just say that I am not gay and I am not Jewish – and supporting the rights of gay people or Jews does not make one a gay Jew. Might I also point out that I also lent my support to women’s rights. I am not, therefore, also a woman.
