Inayat Bunglawala may no longer be on the MCB’s payroll, but he’s still an ardent evangelist for the organisation, which he claims is the “the UK’s largest Islamic umbrella body”. Or more accurately, an arbitrary collection of Muslim Brotherhood sympathisers and alleged war criminals.
He’s very unhappy that at the gala dinner the ‘Jamaat-e-Islami Council of Britain’ laid on earlier this week, no “frontbencher from the Conservative party deemed it worthwhile attending”.
The Tory no-show was a shame
Yes, boohoo, but you should have thought of that when your genocidalist organisation infamously snubbed Holocaust Memorial Day.
He follows with a stern lecture:
I think they [the Tories] would have strongly agreed with the keynote speaker, Professor Tariq Ramadan, as he emphasised to the audience the importance of what he called the “three Ls”: loyalty, law and language.
The same Professor Tariq Ramadan who can’t string an intelligible sentence together to save his life? Oh what the Tories must have missed!
And then a warning:
The Theos research appears to confirm that UK Muslim support for Labour is on the increase once again after a torrid few years under the Blairite former cabinet ministers Ruth Kelly and her successor at the Communities and Local Government (CLG) department, Hazel Blears.
Missing one essential fact here: Not all Muslims in Britain are Maududists, Jamaatis or even consider your organisation as representative of them.
And finally, a piece of obligatory brown-nosing:
Additionally, since his appointment at the CLG, Denham has made clear that the government no longer wishes all UK Muslims to be viewed through the prism of terrorism and the security threat.
Denham has also contributed to that perception as much as anyone by staffing all senior anti-terrorism positions with Muslims. Who else but this government has made terror-legislation a ‘Muslim issue’?
If anything, Bungles and the ‘Jamaat-e-Islami Council of Britain’, certainly know not to bite the hand that feeds. The MCB has always only ever represented itself, not British Muslims, and even so it will be all-change soon, so get what you can out of it now, boys, while it still lasts.

The institution that is MCB is a wonderful testament to community endeavour, it ain’t going no where chomp, and the more you unjustly lambaste and defame them, the stronger a representative they become…they’’re lovin it!
Love it as much as you can brother, your fruitcake non-representative organisation of Jamaatis and Muslim Brotherhood nutters will be in the wilderness again soon, where it deserves to be.
Love the insert of the track by the Eurovision band, Muslim Brotherhood of Man. Very apt lyrics.
Cabinet Ministers and Party Leader Join British Muslim Leaders to Celebrate and Look Forward to a Successful and Inclusive British Muslim Community
23rd February 2010
More than 500 guests from all areas of British Muslim civil society attended the Muslim Council of Britains first Muslim Leadership Dinner in Central London. The occasion focused on strengthening and inspiring a diverse array of Muslim individuals and groups for the good of all.
In his opening speech, Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari, Secretary General of the MCB, spoke about the future of the Muslim community. He said, At a time when many are struggling to see how justice and fairness can be re-introduced to public life – those who hold power under the public trust must strive to regain the trust of the public. Our faith, which places the harmony of the community as the greatest good, and is underpinned by the belief that a just society can and will be achieved, should give us the strength and direction needed to bring about lasting change.
He also outlined plans to initiate the renewal of the MCB, to ensure that it serves better Britains diverse Muslim community to build a better Britain. He said it is important that we all give support for an enduring, British institution.
The evening saw the launch of the Muslim Community Development Fund, with a target of raising 1 million this year to enable the MCB undertake its strategic programmes for unity, capacity building, protection and uplifement of the community.
Addressing the audience, the Rt Hon Jack Straw MP acknowledged the vital and valued role Muslims and the Islamic faith play in our society.
Professor Tariq Ramadan requested Muslims to unite and voice their opinions on all issues affecting British life. He emphasised that Muslims too have many diverse viewpoints, and made clear that government should not pick and choose which background was the most appropriate to speak to.
The Rt Hon Nick Clegg MP, Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party spoke about the common values we all shared as British citizens and said he felt a sense of renewal and optimism at the dinner.
The Rt Hon John Denham MP paid tribute to Muslims and fellow Britons who together had shaped British society. He added that, Your rich history is going to be crucial in years to come. The Secretary of State praised the contribution of British Muslims and stated that Britain has indeed changed unrecognisably for the better.
HRH The Prince of Wales also sent a message of support for the evening. All the speakers and guests acknowledged the immense contribution made by the MCB and Muslim leaders, and agreed that Muslims in Britain should continue to work together with the wider society, as integral members, to build a cohesive, just and prosperous Britain.

The MCB is a Jamaat-e-Islam front organisation and is not representative of Muslims in Britain.
Withhh 500 affiliates they are relatively more representative than you good for nothing, haven’t done shit for the community morons…
No one here is claiming to be “the UK’s largest Islamic umbrella body” – whatever that means. If you want to be represented by the Jamaat, by the Muslim Brotherhood, by a Hamas supporting group of carpetbaggers, that’s within your rights to be a credulous idiot.
But that’s not the case with most Muslims in Britain.
If it is a front for this and that, why were the Sufi representatives, high ranking Barelwi delegates, Shia leaders, the likes of Gyasudin Siddiqui, Deobandi scholars and Gujrati’, Arab, Sri Lankan, Turkish Muslims in such strong attendance at the MCB dinner…why would someone pay to support or fund an organisation that they feel does not represent them…the MCB is “the UK’s largest Islamic umbrella body” and you are a cesspit of the ‘UK’s Tiny forum of Munafiqs’
I don’t know, you’ll have to ask them. I am glad the Tories had the principle to say “no thanks” to UK’s largest Jamaat-e-Islami umbrella.
Regardless of what one thinks of the MCB -they do have over 500 affiliates thats more than any other Muslim organisation -so its a pretty big rebuff to the Muslim community from the Tories. Not really wise given how close things are politically. The idea the Tories did this out of some concern for human rights or whatever is laughable given their past and present record of associations.
Muslim
Erm… 500 affiliates, eh?

I knew Islamists were usually fairly thick, but I didn’t know they were innumerate as well as illiterate.
Great news and well done Mr Cameron. The MCB is headed by Dr Abdul Bari who is of Bangladeshi origin. Bengalis/East Pakistanis just sit around all day scrounging off the dole, smoking and chewing paan. They only vote Labour or in the last election the extremist Respect party. The Tories are right to disassociate themselves from Bangladeshi scum (Hinduised peasants), Hindus, Jews and homosexuals.
