What good is having a secular liberal democracy if you don’t protect your minority communities?

Bangladesh has always treated its minorities appallingly. Look at the treatment of the Biharis and the Rohingyas. Likewise next door India prides itself on being a “secular democracy” while engaging in genocidal pogroms against minorities -Sikhs in 1984, Muslims in Gujurat in 2002 and Christians in Orissa in 2008.
