The same old geezers, again and again

There is one simple reason for cautious confidence in the future of British Islam, and the ultimate unlikelihood of Islamist politics taking deep, widespread roots in our pluralistic parliamentary democracy. Whenever you hear of some depressing new gambit to rally British Muslims to an absurd sectarian agenda, its origins and organisation can invariably be traced to the same coterie of individuals. For this band of Brothers, such activism is a labour of love, the fruit of sleepless nights and schoolboy daydreams. But there are only about fifteen of them.

And so it is with the Hamas-inspired bid to have Tzipi Livni arrested on British soil and the side-car campaign to have the charitable status of the Jewish National Fund revoked. On the 13th December the Islamic Human Rights Commission and the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign cobbled together a demonstration outside the Hendon Hall hotel to coincide with a JNF conference which Livni was due to attend. The IHRC called on the likeminded to register their discontent at JNF “ethnic cleansing of Palestinians” and Tzipi Livni’s “responsibility for the Israeli onslought [sic] on Gaza”.

Video footage of this noble gathering subsequently emerged on Youtube, revealing some familiar faces – and very few besides.

Hendon Protest

Spittoon readers will recognise such luminaries as Kemal Helbawy and Mohammed Sawalha (de rigueur).

Indeed they are hard to miss – flanked by a mere handful of the usual effervescent mixture of menopausal cranks (led by “Secretary General” Betty Hunter) and impressionable children. Despite such unpromising beginnings, the demonstrators apparently succeeded in causing significant disruption, with two typical visionaries managing to storm the venue, before being exited head-first by CST staff.

Even so, it is difficult to see how such occasions can be anything other than immensely depressing for the organisers.

The vanguard of a new world order?

Who says islam is a permanent feature on the British landscape, a couple more attacks and the removal of the current political class and… sky’s the limit. Islam has only been in the UK in force for 40 years and the drive to dominate has already started. I would say islam’s welcome is coming to an end.

What an excellent piece! Well written and to the point, as well as very funny.

I agree: “the usual effervescent mixture of menopausal cranks ” – snigger, giggle, lol.

    Drive to dominate? How so?

    Well Hassan,

Let’s see… were to begin. We could start with muslim attempts to intimidate British people with the death threats leveled at Salmon Rushdie over his book, The Satanic Verses. The koran calls for islamic domination of the world, in fact mandates it as an obligation for all Muslims to strive for this end. Now before you make some sputtering denial, that is the state goal of the grandfather of all islamist groups, the muslim brotherhood, the group behind most national islamic advocacy organizations in Britain. This supremacist position has been the opinion of muslim authorities since there have been muslim authorities, and used as justification for islamic conquest, imperialism, and colonization on every occasion. How is this koran, with backing contributory hadith, inspired drive to dominate manifest in Great Britain the approximately 2000 active jihadis under surveillance by security services, documented efforts by muslim organizations to impose halal foodstuffs in communal canteens in universities and schools. These are examples of “how so,” Hassan. This is just a blogpost, so I’m not going to go on forever. But think on this the London bombings were in the words of the perpetrators were punishment or retaliation British foreign policies aimed against the ummah. In effect, an effort to terrorize the British people into a new foreign policy position, dictated by islamist jihadis, and echoed by british muslim advocacy groups. Every week new plots to kill Britons are uncovered, new relationships between muslim groups active in Britain and foreign jihadi organizations are discovered. In the case discussed here specifically of British courts being used against a democratically elected government official from a British Ally, we see hamas (wing of the muslimbrotherhood) exploiting British law to achieve their political ends, effectively dictating British foreign policy to suit the ends of islamic supremacists.,,, that’s a bit of “how so?” Hasan

    Sorry abu Faris

Wrong gent, Cam as in Cameron not this Gerrit you refer to and Hassen asked.
Seems a common practice here, some one says something regulars don’t want to hear and they are not who they say they are, residue from muslim conspiracy theory enthusiasm.

Aplogies, Cam – it’s just that you and Gerrit seem…um… so similar in views and style of report.

residue from muslim conspiracy theory enthusiasm.

Whatever you want to believe, Cam. I would seek help for your afflictions of acute paranoia and sweeping generalisations about entire faith communities, if I were you.

    Cam,

Had I known you were going to regurgitate and summarise 2 years worth of Daily Mail ‘have your say’ rants, I wouldn’t have enquired in the first place.

documented efforts by muslim organizations to impose halal foodstuffs in communal canteens in universities and schools.

Arrgh. Couldnt agree with you more. Those Halal Chicken Tandoori sandwiches they put in uni canteens are just awful.

lol, you two are funny… Faris’ son and Hassan. Thanks for your expressed concern for my supposed afflictions. What did you call them, acute paranoia and a tendency( I assume you meant) to make sweeping generalizations about entire faith communities? Acute paranoia might be an affliction, but technically I don’t think the latter, the sweeping bit, can be referred to as an affliction anymore than gross exaggeration can be, entire faith communities vs. one specific faith community. Nice try though…What is the expression “it’s not paranoia if they are out to get’cha.” The ikhwan’s goals are clearly stated in their literature, sayed qutb, that malinant little eygptian dwarf is quite straightforward in what he advocates. His polemics, islamic supremacist garbage, are available in mosques all over the UK. You can tell a lot about a culture by what and how they educate their children. Travelling along that premise, an even cursory glance at saudi arabia and most islamically dominated countries shows very little but islamic supremacist ideology and saudi funding of mosques in Britain is well documented. You think it paranoid to ask, what does that funding cost? Native Brits aren’t that daft. No anti-jihadi lunatic fringe is swamping security services with plots to kill Brits, so I could go on at length. But this jihadi bullshit has become so common it verges on bannality. Just as not all Germans were nazis or Russians communists, not all british Muslims are jihadis, jihadi sympathizers or treasonous scum we are rapidly aproaching the point were enough are to warrant sever action, we could follow Pakistan’s example. I hear in recent years they deported 7 million afghans(most of whom were born in Pakistan), 7 million makes 2 million seem not that big a deal. As for native converts, with all the information availible on the true nature Orthodox sunni and shia islam as exampled by their instutions(al-azhar), clergy and schools of law, well these converts are obviously mentally ill and in need of treatment.
I don’t want to eat halal food, ’cause i disagree with the cruel manner in which the animal is slaughtered. Like Sikhs, I find it offensive. As far as tandoori goes Sikhs and Hindus do it just as well as muslims, and if I want keema I will make it myself. Try butter chicken with pan fried chorizo, or chorizo with pallek or saag, hmmmm good

…………..Just as not all Germans were nazis or Russians communists, not all british Muslims are jihadis, jihadi sympathizers or treasonous scum……………

I think your analogy above is not quite right. You should compare like for like to be fair.

It would have been more accurate if you had said something like “not all Germans are Nazis or Russians communists, Pakistanis Muslims, Japanese Budhists or Britons atheists”.

Jihad is a religious duty of Muslims and that makes all Muslims Jihadists.
What makes someone a Muslim, is principles and practices of Islamic ideology.
A Muslim who does not believe in jihad cannot be a Muslim.
Similarly, what makes someone a Nazi is his/her racist, anti-Semitic, supremacists beliefs.

  16. Posted December 28, 2009 at 2:22 PM | Permalink

Jihad is a religious duty of Muslims and that makes all Muslims Jihadists.

Jihad is fard al-ayn, not fard al-kifaya.

What makes someone a Muslim, is principles and practices of Islamic ideology.

What makes someone a Muslim is public declaration of the Shahada and active participation in the other Four Pillars of the Faith. Jihad is not a Pillar of the Faith.

A Muslim who does not believe in jihad cannot be a Muslim.

Not so. See directly above. A hilarious example of a non-Muslim making takfir, however.

Ironically, your position is very similar to that given by Islamists, Gerrit. How very unsurprising – but, nonetheless, amusing.

Exactly. Has Gerrit been attending lectures by Anwar al-Awlaki at East London Mosque I wonder?
