Qutb also believed only he and his colleagues were proper Muslims:

Qutb appears to be referring to himself in the third person here and to have changed his name to Sivan. Fascinating. LOL.

I should like to add, as a caveat, that I do not necessarily agree with all of Laboda’s views as expressed in his above linked thesis. I would strongly contest, for example, his stated view that Islam itself is a “threat”. However, his text is a useful and usually quite balanced account of the life and motivations of Qutb; and this outweighs the sometimes undoubtedly egregious and false opinions of the author.

I would be alarmed to discover that I ever agreed completely with anyone; one learns to sift the wheat from the chaff.
