Tamil Tiger leader Velupillai Prabhakaran has been killed, according to the Sri Lankan government. The government is claiming victory after 26 years of war with the Tigers.
I wonder if the Tamils will still protest in front of Parliament…

Regarding the LTTE, I think we need to be very careful in our distinction between Tamil speaking Sri Lankans and the Tamil Tigers. Many of those protesting in parliament square do not support the Tamil Tigers but are protesting at the treatment of Tamil-civilians during the conflict. Therefore, the death of Prabhakaran should not silence the Tamil speaking civilians in standing up for their rights.
I just passed Parliament Square, and they are still out in full force, wailing, shouting, cheering, and cursing at the cops.
Congratulations on your launch; I look forward to reading your spat-out blog posts.
