Britain Welcomes the Imam of Hate

The imam of the Grand Mosque of Mecca, Abdur Rahman as-Sudais is currently on a tour of Britain. He is known as the man who leads prayers observed by two million followers during the time of the Hajj pilgramage. Al-Sudais’ repurposes allegorical references to the Jewish tribes of Mecca from the Quran and converts them into supercilious anti-semitic hate sermons for the consumption of his followers.

Here is an example from the al-Haramain Sermons website:

Read the history to know that yesterday’s Jews are evil predecessors and today’s Jews are worse successors. They an ingrate people, they altered God’s words, worshipped calf, killed Messengers and denied their Messages. They are exiled people and the worst of mankind. Allaah cursed them and cast His wrath upon them. He turned some of them to monkeys and pigs and worshippers of creatures. They are worst in position and are astray from the right path.

History of Jews is full of deception, trickery, rebellion, oppression, evil and corruption. They always seek to cause mischief on the earth and Allaah loves not the mischief-makers. They even insulted Allaah. The Quraan says,
“The Jews say: ‘Allaah’s Hand is tied up (i.e. He does not give and spend of His Bounty). Be their hands tied up and be they accursed for what they uttered.’”
(Al-Maaidah 5:64)

High and Glorified is Allaah above what they uttered.
They have accused Allaah’s Messengers with great and heinous crimes. They harmed Prophet Moosa, denied Eesaa, killed Yahyaa and Zakariya and attempted to kill Prophet Muhammad. They used magic spell on him and poisoned food for him. Allaah addresses them,

“Is it that whenever there came to you a Messenger with what you yourselves desired not, you grew arrogant? Some, you disbelieved and some you killed…”
(Al-Baqarah 2:87)

Fellow Muslims! Today we are facing the most severe war against the enemies of yesterday, today and tomorrow; a war against the descendants of Banu Qurayzah, Banu Nadeer, Banu Qaynuqaa.* May everlasting curse of Allaah be upon them. Can our people now understand the true colour of these accursed and erroneous people after their evil have become widespread and their aggression has become well-known?

Sudais has made no secret of his support of Hamas. In another sermon (recorded on the al-Haramain Sermons site), he praised the Hamas leader Ahmed Yassin, after he was killed by the IDF, as a “martyr” and exhorted “blessed Jihaad”.

If you happen to be a hate-preacher, an anti-gay protestor, a far-right Christian “shock-jock” bigot, an advocate of violent race supremacism or a champion of terrorism, you should expect to be barred from entering the UK. And indeed many such individuals have already been banned. So the Hamas MP Yunis al-Astal, Jewish extremist Mike Guzovsky, former Ku Klax Klan grand wizard Stephen Donald Black and neo-Nazi Erich Gliebe as well as the preachers Wagdy Abd El Hamied Mohammed Ghoneim and Abdullah Qadri al-Ahdal all appear on the list of banned individuals for preaching and inciting hatred.

Overpaid, overfed and over here

Not so if you’re the imam of the Grand Mosque of Mecca. In which case you can expect your sermon-tour of the UK to be formally kicked off by an official welcome by the Saudi ambassador to the UK, Prince Mohammed bin Nauwaf bin Abdul Aziz (pictured right).

On Wednesday Sudais led prayers at the al-Tawhid Mosque in Leyton. On Thursday he addressed a meeting in Banbury Town Hall. Conservative MP Tony Baldry was a fellow speaker. Yesterday he spoke at the Green Lane Mosque in Birmingham. Next Tuesday he will lead prayers at the East London Mosque.

As you can see, Sudais’ itinerary is studded with a number of prominent British mosques and Islamic centres all eager to play the fawning host to this scion of the Saudi-Wahhabi establishment. None of this is overtly surprising. In fact the Islamist sclerosis within certain parts of the British muslim community has now passed into such an advanced stage that the admission of a Saudi hate-preacher almost goes unnoticed. After all, this is is not the first time the East London Mosque (ELM) has hosted a senior Saudi cleric who also happen to be an exponent of sectarian bigotry. Only a few months ago the ELM welcomed Sheikh Adil al-Kalbani whose anti-Shia and anti-semitic statements were met with worldwide condemnation.

What is curious, however, is finding Tony Baldry Tory MP speaking alongside one of Islamism’s most prominent hate-preachers.
