Several weeks after we at the Spittoon first broke the story, the Independent has now published an article on Hizb ut-Tahrir’s links with the SRE Islamic Campaign to end sex and relationship education for children.
Patel’s organisation, SREIslamic, was established eight months ago to encourage Muslims to respond to the Government’s consultation about whether to make SRE compulsory and extend it to five-year-olds. Since then, the organisation claims, it has held 40 workshops across the country and collected tens of thousands of signatures from Muslims opposed to the measures.
But Patel is not only a concerned parent and campaigner. According to his website, he is also a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir, an Islamist organisation that Tony Blair considered banning in 2005. Patel’s brother, Jalaluddin, is the former UK head of the political party, which is barred in countries including Germany, Russia and Egypt. Should we be concerned that, like other far-right or religious groups in Britain, SREIslamic might be using a sensitive community grievance to pursue a wider political agenda?0
Although Hizb ut-Tahrir says it does not advocate violence, it is opposed to Western-style democracy and believes in establishing a global caliphate under sharia law. There is no evidence of its involvement in terrorism, but some of its members have defended terrorist acts abroad, most recently when a member described Pakistani militants as “brothers”.
Such claims that Hizb ut-Tahrir does not advocate violence are, of course, palpable nonsense, but it is good to see HT’s underhand tactics being blown wide open in the national press.
After the workshop, Patel declined to answer questions about his political beliefs. In a subsequent email, he confirmed his membership of Hizb ut-Tahrir, but denied any formal link between the party and SREIslamic, as did Hizb ut-Tahrir’s press officer. In the workshop, it was hard to tell whether Patel is constructively engaging in local democracy or stirring up tension. “As a community, we have a right to express our concerns but we have been labelled,” he said. “Parents have concerns within their minds about speaking out. ‘How will teachers see us?’ and ‘What are the repercussions for my child?’.” [emphasis added]
Standard HT skulduggery – take a legitimate local grievance and stir it up to discourage Muslims from integrating into British society and reinforce HT’s narrative of a global attack on Islam which can be defended only through reintroducing the khilafa. A rather tired tactic but, unless it is revealed in this manner, pretty effective.

Now I get it. Spittoon is the political wing of the militant liberal Quilliam Foundation. An interesting thought worthy of further inquiry is, is there a cross-over in membership of the army council.
It seems Quilliam’s official ‘alerts’ were a disaster, so Spittoon has been contracted to be the anti-Islamist mouthpiece with its own outings (I’m not talking about a day out at Brighton, unless Spittoon joined the floats at this year’s Pride!), but unfortunately they’re just as inane, inaccurate and dare I say comedic. I’ve bookmarked you alongside all the comedy greats. By the way is the new Whitehall plan, destroy the darn Islamists by making them laugh themselves into a coronary. Well it’s worth a try, do keep the laughs coming I haven’t laughed so loud in ages!
Anyway at least this keeps Rashad and other defectors out of real trouble. Just a pity you all don’t post as yourself anymore. Maybe you’ll have the guts to do that some day?

Wow a really volatile discussion! I think obviously if boys and girls are going to marry at 9 and 11 we should teach them about sex and stuff before – right? That is hizb belief! Tahriri fiqh is it not? 5 is a bit over the top, maybe between 6 and 1/2 and 8 is long enough…

Yet again you have shown yourselves to be rather immature and comical. This is a very serious issue. I doubt any you have children because if you did, you would be very concerned about what they are teaching in school nowadays. I certainly do not want my children to view pornographic material – ever – and definitely not while they are juniors in school! I do not want my children to learn about homosexuality as something which is ok, as their deen clearly condemns it. I like many other non-Muslim and Muslim parents, care for my children and will do all my best to stop such things being taught. I welcome groups, Islamic or none to support the above campaign, Mashallah lead by members of Hizb ut Tahrir.
The Spittoon is not a serious, well rounded, researched, academic and honest initiative. Rather it is a cult, consisting of cowards who hide behind pseudonyms with a sinister and subversive agenda. They anonymously sit behind a PC and slander sincere community activists like those mentioned in the article above. Mashallah those brothers are sincere which is why they use their names in public, transparently, as they believe in their cause sincerely and are not afraid of false slander.
So I agree with Ahmad’s sentiments, which imply that the contents of the spittoon clearly show any serious reader that this is just a comedic sight full of comedians who struggle to string one or more legitimate sentences together.
There is a simple solution to this sex education issue brother, move to Somalia or Afghanistan. Can’t have it both ways i’m afraid, the joys and wonders of liberal democracy hey.
